The Carnegie Council for Ethics in International Affairs announces its third International Essay Contest as part of its third annual September Sustainability Month. United Bank of Africa (UBA) Group, the African financial services group, through its corporate social responsibility arm; UBA Foundation, has unveiled plans for a national essay competition for secondary school students in Nigeria. Three Senior Secondary school students will be awarded undergraduate scholarships to study in Nigerian Universities. Submission deadline: November 1, 2011. Each year the Berkeley Prize, whose primary goal is to foster a larger awareness and understanding of the social art of architecture, sponsors an Essay Competition, a Travel Fellowship Competition, and an Architectural Design Fellowship Competition, all open to undergraduate students studying architecture throughout the world. The essay competition is open to all current full-time registered students in an undergraduate architecture degree program or undergraduates majoring in architecture in accredited schools of architecture worldwide. Essay Submission Deadline: October 15, 2011. The Society for the Development of Austrian Economics is pleased to announce that submissions for the 2011 Don Lavoie Memorial Graduate Student Essay Competition are now being accepted. Submissions will be accepted from advanced PhD students in economics or other relevant disciplines anywhere in the world. The competition is limited to thesis chapters and/or other research that is geared toward publication in the professional journals; submissions should adhere to appropriate standards of academic writing and should be on a topic relevant to Austrian economics.
