The Bertha Scholarship is a competitive scholarship for the full time MBA at the University of Cape Town's Graduate School of Business for those candidates who are working on market-based and business solutions to social and environmental challenges in emerging markets, and in particular in Africa. The Bertha Centre for Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship provides full scholarships to cover tuition fees for up to five students every year for the MBA programme at the GSB. The scholarships have been established to reduce the financial burden of undertaking a MBA for those dedicated to working in or starting entrepreneurial ventures that tackle social or environmental problems. The African Presidential Scholars Program offers early career faculty from Ghana, Liberia, South Africa and Uganda the opportunity to collaborate with faculty and students at the University of Michigan during residencies of two to six months.
