Sekolah Kluster Kecemerlangan 2012

Kementerian Pelajaran Malaysia (KPM) has released another 14 High Performing Schools 2012 (HPS)  (Sekolah Kluster Kecemerlangan 2012 ), bringing the total numbers of HPS todate to 66 schools.  The Education Ministry’s aim was to identify 100 HPS by the end of 2012.

Muhyiddin said the objectives of the HPS were to elevate the quality of such schools and produce excellent students using holistic approaches.  The third objective, he said, was to narrow the gap between schools in the system through coaching and networking.

Many of previous HPS has taken part in international programmes and competitions and established linkages with foreign schools and groups.

What are the benefits being a High Performing Schools ?

  • Each school will received allocation of RM700,000 yearly
  • HPS schools also given special allocations, incentives and training for leaders, teachers and non-academic staff
  • The school also given autonomy in curriculumn, financial and human resources management and student intake.

The list of new Sekolah Kluster Kecemerlangan 2012 are as follows ;

Sekolah Menengah

  • Sekolah Menengah (SM) Sains Sultan Muhammad Jiwa, Sungai Petani, Kedah;
  • SM Sains Dungun, Terengganu;
  • SM Kebangsaan Seafield, Subang Jaya, Selangor;
  • SM Sains Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah, Pahang;
  • SM Kebangsaan Alor Akar, Pahang;
  • SM Tinggi Kluang, Johor;
  • SM Kebangsaan (P) Sultan Abu Bakar, Muar, Johor.

Sekolah Rendah

  • Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Convent Infant Jesus 1, Melaka;
  • SK Taman Bukit Maluri, Kuala Lumpur;
  • SK Agama Sibu, Sarawak;
  • SK Seliau, Rantau, Negeri Sembilan;
  • SK USJ 2, Subang Jaya, Selangor;
  • Sekolah Rendah Kebangsaan Seri Indera, Kangar, Perlis;
  • SK Minden Heights, Gelugor, Pulau Pinang;
  • SK Jenis Kebangsaan Cina Kwang Hwa, Bayan Lepas, Pulau Pinang.
