Huawei Technologies offer 3million Naira Undergraduate Scholarships to 15 ICT Students

ICT Scholarship in Nigeria in information technology and engineering for undergraduate students in UNILAG Huawei Technologies Company Nigeria, in an attempt to bridge the business divide through education, has committed over N3 million naira in form of competitive scholarships to 15 talented full-time undergraduate students from the University of Lagos (UNILAG); who are committed to careers in Information and Communication Technology – ICT and related fields. UNILAG is chosen as the institution for the pilot scheme but will likely be extended to other Nigerian Universities in further annual scholarship awards. Eligible Fields The Huawei ICT Scholarship Scheme is committed to supporting undergraduate students with a Cumulative Grade Point Average of 4.0 and above from the departments of; Computer engineering Computer science Electrical electronics Physics electronics and Systems engineering The scholarship is open to 200 – 400 level students of the targeted five ICT-related departments, with three students emerging from each of the departments Wei Chengmin, the company's President, Western Africa Region, said the scheme was part of the organisation's community social responsibility initiative, aimed at developing talents for the ICT industry.
