The Utrecht Excellence Scholarships for International students to study in Netherlands 2011/2012

The Utrecht Excellence Scholarship offers a number of undergraduate and Master's scholarship awards to highly talented prospective international students, with the opportunity to pursue a degree in a selected number of fields at Utrecht University. The scholarship programme is highly selective. Only candidates showing the highest achievement and promise may receive a scholarship. Selected students receive a scholarship for the duration of the degree programme, which is a maximum of two years for a Master's degree and three years for a Bachelor's degree. Approximately 55 scholarships are awarded each year.

The Working to Advance African Women (WAAW) foundation aim to increase the pipeline of African women in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) related disciplines, and work to ensure that this talent is engaged in African innovation. WAAW has announced the next round of its scholarship program for African women for 2011/2012, offering $500/year for need-based female African students admitted to a University, College or institute of higher learning in Africa. Scholarships are renewable annually, following proof of the student's continued academic performance. Application is open from August 1 through October 30, 2011.
