University of Central Lancashire- UCLan International Excellence Scholarship Award The University of Central Lancashire UK is delighted to offer a range of scholarship opportunities for new international students commencing a full-time taught programme in September 2012 through the UCLan International Excellence Scholarship Award 2012/2013 The scholarships are awarded in the form of a reduction in the tuition fee for one year. The student is responsible for the payment of the remainder of the tuition fee and living expenses for their period of study. The scholarships are mainly focused to students from developing countries. Below are scholarships for students from Africa (Egypt, Mauritius, Uganda, South Africa, Nigeria, and Ghana). Scholarship Benefit Awards are to the value of a 50% reduction in the tuition fee for the duration of the programme of study. Applications that are unsuccessful for the UCLan International Excellence Awards may still be awarded a Vice Chancellor's Award of 500 GBP per year. Selection Criteria All applications will be assessed with consideration to the following: overall presentation; originality of thought; fluency in communication of ideas; evidence of motivation for study; Ability to succeed and contribute to university life. Google Digitizing the Law of Ghana

In the existence of most African countries, national laws have only lived in restricted hard-copies and courtrooms for Lawyers and Judges to refer to recorded years past rulings. This information is often out of date and only accessible to few. This has not been any different in Ghana where Google recently helped bring a new dimension to the scene, and made online access to information on laws of Ghana possible. To improve accountability and expand access to this critical national information, Chief Justice Georgina Wood decided to bring the system online. The Judicial Service of Ghana has joined the Google Books Partner Programme, uploading judicial opinions from the High Courts, Appellate Courts, and Supreme Court to Google Books and making them searchable from the Court's homepage. The Court has also embedded a Google search box on its homepage at www.judicial.gov.gh, allowing any user to search and read Ghanaian judgments. To learn more about judicial opinions in Ghana, you can explore the new digital justice resource today at www.judicial.gov.gh.
