Auction for Establishing Universal Tele Centres in Rural Areas Pilot Project

1- Universal Service Fund intends to establish Universal Tele centers (UTCs) across rural areas of Pakistan. Each UTC will be fully equipped with state of the art ICT infrastructure and will provide ICT services to the local community.

2- All licensed providers of telecommunication services capable of providing Broadband Service, who are also contributors of USFS are eligible to participate in the auction which will be conducted by USF for the following: a. USF/SP/UTCs-PP/ICT/2011/O1: Establishment of Universal Telecasters in 24 pilot locations of rural areas of four provinces by supplying, installing and maintaining of standardized ICT equipment, Renewable Energy Power Solutions, 2 MB broadband connection, Wi-Fi Hotspot and robust furniture at each premise.

3- Last date for submission of bids is 27th August, 2011. Interested eligible licensees may get registration ten days before submission of the proposals.

4- Information regarding the Package including auction process, services to be provided, eligibility to participate in auction, registration instructions, mode of auction, tentative event schedule and other necessary information is available in the "Information Packages "placed on the USF's website' http://www.usf.org.pklTenderdescription.aspx?1685 – Registered participants must submit their bids, in the manner and mode prescribed in the RFA, to the undersigned at the address and date/time specified in the Information Package/RFA. Any bid received after specified date and time shall be returned un-opened.

6- USFCo may reject all bids or proposals at any time prior to the acceptance of a bid or proposal.
