VLIR- UOS Masters Scholarships in Belgium for Developing Countries 2012 Posted: 18 Aug 2011 03:17 PM PDT 180 Masters & 70 training Scholarships for students from Developing countries by VLIR-UOS, Belgium 2012 - 50% of scholarships will be offered to African students and almost 50% for Women. VLIR-UOS awards scholarships to students from developing countries to study for a master or training programme in Flanders, Belgium. For 2012 academic year, VLIR-UOS will award 180 scholarships to first-year master students and 70 scholarships to training participants. VLIR-UOS funds and facilitates academic cooperation and exchange between higher education institutions in Flanders (Belgium) and those in developing countries, which aims at building capacity, knowledge and experience for a sustainable development. Makerere University Female Scholarship Foundation, Uganda 2012 Posted: 18 Aug 2011 03:08 PM PDT 2011/2012 Undergraduate Scholarships for Girls by Makerere University Female Scholarship Foundation, Uganda The Makerere University Female Scholarship Foundation (FSF) was launched in November 2010, in order to sustain the Female Scholarship Initiative (FSI) established at Makerere University in 2001 with support from the Carnegie Corporation of New York. The goal of the FSI was to support Ugandan female students from disadvantaged socio-economic backgrounds to access university education thus contributing to the increased female enrollment at the university. Full scholarships were awarded to pursue undergraduate studies at Makerere University which has supported about 691 female students since 2001. Read more »
